Events

To book any of the talks below, contact maria-graham@live.co.uk once it’s stated on this website, in a newsletter, on Facebook or Twitter that booking has opened. Heaton History Group members have a priority booking window:

  1. Wed 28 June Eileen O’Shaughnessy Blair: the rebel who married Orwell (Angela Smith)
  2. Wed 27 September Bedlington Remembered (Barry Meade)

In July and August, we will put on guided walks which, because participant numbers will be restricted, will be advertised to members only through our newsletter and at the above talks. Our talks programme will resume in September.

Venue

Unless stated otherwise,  our talks now take place at St George’s United Reformed Church on Newton Road, High Heaton NE7 7HP.

There are excellent public transport links including the numbers 18, 38, 52, 553, which stop right by the church.

There is car parking on the surrounding streets. The nearest car park is in Paddy Freeman’s Car Park just round the corner off Freeman Road, about a 3 minute walk away.

Booking

All live talks will be free to members and cost £2.50 for non-members. Once booking has opened, reserve your place by contacting Maria on maria-graham@live.co.uk or 07443 594154

We also offer at least two guided walks a year but, because numbers are limited, these are advertised to members only.
