Heaton History Group are pleased to announce their first event, taking place on Wednesday 17th April.
Architectural historian John Grundy will be speaking at the first of a year of talks planned on a range of topics. The subject of the opening evening is The Buildings of Heaton, a topic John is well qualified to speak about.
Having worked for English Heritage in the 1980s John is probably most well known for the TV shows Grundy’s Wonders and Grundy’s Northern Pride. John also contributed to the 2nd edition of Nikolaus Pevsner’s Northumberland and has been extolling the virtues of the North’s buildings and architectural heritage for many years.
To book a place for the event email chris.jackson@heatonhistorygroup.org, including your name, address and a contact number. Tickets cost £2 per person, payable on the night, for non-members and is free for members.
The talk is being held at the Corner House, Heaton Road, NE6 5RP. The evening starts at 7pm and the talk is expected to begin at 7:30pm. Seats will be reserved for those who have booked until 7:15pm when they will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
